ABF Best Player Awards 2017/2018

The Association of Bulgarian footballers (ABF) organised the 18th edition of the awarding ceremony for the Best Player of the Season.
The inquiry for the Best Football Player is unique - all professional football players vote to choose the best among themselves. For third consecutive year the ABF involved the female players to vote for the Best Female Player.

The players in Bulgaria have chosen Todor Nedelev from PFC Botev Plovdiv for the Best player of the season. He is crowned with this special distinction after being second last year. Martin Kamburov from PFC Beroe and Fernando Karanga from PFC CSKA-Sofia are the runner-ups.

The Romanian striker of the champions Ludogorets Claudiu Keseru was announced to be the Best Player of the Season according to the Instat Index. For second consecutive year he takes the prize for Top Scorer. He has scored 26 goals in the First League.

The coach of PFC Botev Plovdiv Nikolay Kirov was elected for the best coach of the season. He is followed by Aleksandar Tomash from PFC Beroe and Ilian Iliev from Cherno more.

Kiril Despodov from PFC CSKA-Sofia is crowned as the Best Young Player for the second consecutive year. He is followed by Antonio Vutov (Levski) and Serkan Yusein (Botev Plovdiv).

This year's special award for his football achievements was given to Georgi Petkov from Slavia, whose team won the Bulgarian Cup.

Martin Kamburov (Beroe) was awarded the prize for his historical achievement having scored 200 goals.

The forward of PFC CSKA-Sofia Fernando Karanga was awarded with another special award, named after the Bulgarian popular player Trifon Ivanov. The award was given to him for showing strong character and playing in the derby with Levski a day after the death of his mother.

Andrea Hristov from PFC Slavia took the award for the Most Progressive Football Player.

For the third consecutive year the ABF announced the Best female player. Veronika Gotseva from FC Sportika Blagoevgrad was chosen to be the best by her teammates. Runner-ups in this category are Leonora Zheleva (FC Enko Plovdiv) and Velina Koshuleva from the team of the National Sports Academy.

Silvia Radoyska from NSA Sofia was awarded for her contribution to Women's Football.

The eighteenth edition of the Best Player Awards ceremony of the ABF took place on 21st May in Sofia and was attended by several football celebrities and broadly reflected by all print and electronic media.
